Service Description
EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK 1 DAY CERTIFICATION COURSE CONTENT: face to face training required: Offered in London and surrounding areas only. Please call us to confirm where we are able to teach this class. This 1 day training includes comprehensive course materials, group and 1:1 tutoring as well as practical exercises to support the development of critical skills and knowledge to be able to provide first aid in a variety of settings. This programme covers the following areas. INTRODUCTION: - The Definition of a First Aider - The Aims of First Aid - Rescuer Protection - First Aid Kit - Reporting Accident SAFETY & CASUALTY CARE: - SAFE™ - Life Cycle™ - Chain of Survival BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS): - Primary Care & Recovery Position - Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - The use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED) - Adult and Child Choking - Types and Control of Bleeding - Haemostatic Dressing and the Application of Tourniquet - Shock, Seizures and Epilepsy MINOR FIRST AID: - Small Cuts, Grazes and Bites - Bruises and Small Splinters - Nosebleeds ASSESSMENT: There is no final exam each learner is continuously assessed by the trainer / assessor during their training. It is then both the responsibility and decision of the trainer/assessor to determine if each learner has reached the level required to become a first aider within the work place. CERTIFICATION: Successful learners will be certified by The International Certification and Training Academy (TICTA) which is valid for three years from course completion date.
